Professional Development
We expect a great deal of our employees in terms of efficiency and innovation. In return, they can expect effective support from PAION. During the annual performance appraisals, we create an individual development plan for each employee. Moreover, training budgets ensure that each department has at its disposal the financial means necessary to achieve this.
The objective of professional development is not necessarily to promote employees to a higher rung on the hierarchical ladder, but rather to continuously expand their assignments and help them grow into new responsibilities. We offer a broad range of opportunities for professional and personal development of our staff. Some of these are:
The PAION Academy is an internal forum for lectures and presentations open to all PAIONeers. The academy follows the principle of "knowledge transfer from employee to employee". External speakers and experts in special fields are also invited. Topics cover the entire range of our activities, from drug development to commercial issues to soft skills. The PAION academy provides employees an opportunity to learn more about other departments and their fields of expertise, improve understanding for "the big picture" and foster collaboration.
Besides external training and seminars, we also offer training concepts tailored exactly to the individual needs of our employees. Topics vary from communication and presentation skills to work-live balance and stress management.
Employees may also attend comprehensive courses or advanced training offered by universities. Some of our scientists have attended the "European Course of Pharmaceutical Medicine" at the acclaimed University Witten-Herdecke or the course "Master of Regulatory Affairs" at the German Association of Regulatory Affairs - DGRA (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Regulatorische Angelegenheiten).
As individual and on-the-job-development play an important role, we also work together with experienced coaches, who assist our employees in exploring alternative solutions to challenges they face.
In addition, our employees attend congresses and symposia to keep their technical knowledge up to date, and also to establish and maintain contact to opinion leaders, institutes and companies.
These are only a few examples of our activities. We are continually developing new concepts and rely on the initiative and proposals of our employees to do so.
