PAION is a biopharmaceutical company headquartered in Aachen, Germany and has a second site in Cambridge, UK.

The company is specialized in developing and commercializing innovative drugs for the hospital-based treatment in indications for which there is a substantial unmet medical need. After proof of concept in humans the strategy is to out-license or co-develop the drug candidates with pharma partners. Thus revenues can be generated at an early stage, decreasing development costs and risks. The company further profits from the receipt of payments for reaching clinical and commercial milestones and receiving royalties after market approval of the drugs. Further upside can be generated from co-commercialisation activities.

• Desmoteplase (Phase III); final polish currently being added by our partner Lundbeck
• The multi-faceted Remimazolam (ready for Phase III) for which a partner is being sought
• Solulin, which is undergoing its first polish in Phase Ib
